Peter Weigele has been in a leadership position as both a Residency and Fellowship Liaison at nationally recognized programs at the North Shore-LIJ Health System. He possesses unique insights acquired from membership on selection committees, including participation in the recruitment and selection of resident candidates. Peter is involved in this process every step of the way - from the screening of applicants through the on-boarding of matched candidates. As a Residency and Fellowship Liaison for two of the most sought-after residency programs in the country, he has personally reviewed thousands of applications.
Peter was honored by the residents of his Residency Program with the awarding of the first ever annual Resident’s Choice Award. Inaugurated that year by residents of the Program, the award is dedicated in honor and appreciation of the non-clinician within the department who made the most significant contribution to the Program and its residents.
Peter learned through two decades of project managing telecommunications-based software deployments, including numerous multi-million dollar enterprise-wide installations, the intricacies of implementation efforts. He coordinated teams of professionals necessary to execute the implementation of customer solutions, and developed and implemented thousands of project plans while managing entire implementation efforts, from start to finish. A multitude of these projects were at recognized “name brand” and Fortune 500 companies. Peter discovered his true passion, however, in the personal and professional development of his resident physicians and fellows in their pursuit of post-graduate training, and a life-long career in medicine. He looks forward to assisting you in the implementation of your plan to secure a spot at one of your top choices for residency or fellowship.
